It was a sunny morning when Lala heard exciting news: Dad’s Mom was coming to visit! Lala had never met her grandmother before, and her little heart raced with curiosity. She bounced around the living room, wondering what kind of person she would be.
When the doorbell rang, Lala ran to open it and froze in surprise. Standing there was a kind, smiling lady holding a basket of fresh eggs. “Hello, Lala! I’ve heard so much about you,” she said warmly. Lala’s eyes sparkled. “You’re my grandmother?” she asked, amazed.
“Yes, sweetheart,” Grandma replied, kneeling down to hug her. Lala felt instant warmth and love, realizing that family could be wonderful and welcoming.
After greetings and introductions, Dad suggested, “How about we put the chickens in their new coop?” Lala’s eyes widened. She loved animals, and this was her chance to help.
Grandma handed her a small basket of chickens while Dad opened the coop door. Lala carefully carried each little chicken inside, making sure they were safe and comfortable. “Be gentle, Lala,” Grandma advised. Lala nodded, placing each one in its little nest and giggling as they clucked softly.
Mom watched them from the porch, smiling at the scene. “Looks like Lala has a new friend—and a great helper,” she said.
Once all the chickens were settled, Lala turned to Grandma and said, “Thank you for letting me help. I love having you here!” Grandma smiled, ruffling her hair. “And I love having you, Lala. You’re a very thoughtful little girl.”
That day, Lala not only met her grandmother for the first time but also felt the joy of helping with the chickens. It was a morning full of surprises, laughter, and the beginning of a special family bond.
