Lala went to the kitchen to steam cakes for Mom to enjoy!

Early in the morning, the warm sunshine peeked through the window, and Lala woke up full of energy. She thought about Mom, who always worked so hard, and whispered to herself, “Today I’ll make something delicious for Mom—a plate of steamed cakes!”

Excited, she ran to the kitchen and looked around for ingredients. She found a little flour, sugar, milk, and eggs. Standing on her tiptoes, she carefully mixed them together in a big bowl. The spoon made a soft swishing sound as she stirred, and Lala giggled when a bit of flour puffed up onto her nose.

Next, she poured the smooth batter into small cups, lining them neatly in the steamer. As the water boiled, the lid rattled, and sweet-smelling steam slowly filled the kitchen. Lala peeked inside and her eyes sparkled—the cakes were puffing up into soft, fluffy rounds.

While waiting, Lala set the table with a plate, a cup of tea, and even picked a small flower from the garden to place beside it. She wanted the surprise to feel special.

Finally, the cakes were ready. She carefully lifted the lid, letting out a cloud of steam, and proudly placed the golden, fluffy cakes onto a plate. Just then, Mom entered the kitchen, curious about the delicious smell.

“Lala, what’s this?” Mom asked with surprise.

With a big smile, Lala held up the plate. “I made steamed cakes just for you, Mom. Please enjoy!”

Mom took a bite, and her face lit up. “Mmm, these are wonderful! Thank you, my sweet Lala.”

At that moment, Lala felt so happy. The cakes weren’t just food—they were a little gift of love, made with her own two hands.
