It was a blazing hot afternoon, and little Lala was feeling uncomfortable. She sat under the fan, wiggling and scratching gently. The sun was high, the air was dry, and even the breeze felt warm. “Mom… I’m itchy,” she pouted, fanning herself with a small leaf.
Thuy looked over and immediately noticed the tiny sweat beads on Lala’s face and her constant fidgeting. “Oh no, the heat is making you itchy again,” Thuy said with concern. “That won’t do. You need to cool down!”
Without wasting a minute, Thuy packed Lala’s swim ring, towel, and sunscreen, and they headed to the nearby swimming pool. The moment Lala saw the sparkling blue water, her eyes lit up with excitement. “Yay! Swimming time!” she squealed.
Thuy gently helped her change into her favorite swimsuit—the one with the little yellow duck on it. As soon as her feet touched the cool water, Lala let out a joyful laugh. “Ahhh, so much better!”
She paddled around in her float, splashing and giggling, while Thuy sat at the poolside, watching with a smile. “You’re like a happy little fish!” Thuy teased.
Lala swam up, looked up at Thuy, and said, “Thank you, Mom! I’m not itchy anymore!”
They played together with floating toys, sang silly songs, and even had a mini race in the water. After swimming, Thuy wrapped Lala in a soft towel and handed her a fresh coconut to drink.
Back at home, Lala looked clean, cool, and completely refreshed. She curled up in Thuy’s lap with a happy sigh. “Can we go swimming again tomorrow if it’s hot?” she asked sweetly.
Thuy chuckled and nodded, “Of course, my little sunshine.”
Thanks to Thuy’s love and quick thinking, a hot itchy day turned into one of Lala’s happiest, splashiest memories ever.
