It was a bright and peaceful morning when Lala stirred in her cozy little bed. As the sun peeked through the window, she opened her eyes and stretched her tiny arms. Instead of being grumpy or sleepy, Lala remembered the promise she made to Thuy the night before: to be a good girl, wake up on time, and start her day responsibly.
Without anyone having to remind her, Lala slipped out of bed, walked to the sink, and brushed her teeth just like she had been taught. She stood on her little stool, carefully holding her toothbrush and making sure to get every tooth clean. After rinsing her mouth and wiping her face with a soft towel, she gave herself a proud smile in the mirror.
“Thuy will be so happy when she sees I did everything all by myself!” she said, clapping her hands together with excitement.
After getting dressed in her favorite comfy outfit, Lala walked to the living room and looked around. It was still quiet—Thuy had gone to the market early to buy fresh vegetables, fruits, and Lala’s favorite snacks. Lala knew it wouldn’t be long before she returned, so she decided to wait patiently like a good little girl.
She sat by the window, watching people and bicycles pass by, her eyes lighting up at every sound she thought might be Thuy returning. To pass the time, she played quietly with her stuffed toys and even tried to help by folding a small towel, mimicking what she had seen Thuy do before.
Finally, the front door opened, and in came Thuy with bags full of goodies. Lala ran to her with a bright smile and hugged her tightly.
“I brushed my teeth and waited just like I promised!” Lala said proudly.
Thuy beamed with pride. “You did so well, my sweet girl,” she replied. The moment was simple, but it showed just how much Lala was growing—and how much love filled their little home.
