The sun had just risen when Lala woke up with an idea. “Today, I want to surprise Mom,” she whispered to herself. She tiptoed into the kitchen, determined to make something special—soft, warm steamed cakes.
Lala gathered simple ingredients from the shelves: flour, sugar, eggs, milk, and a little baking powder. She mixed them together in a big bowl, her small hands working carefully as she stirred. The batter became smooth and creamy, and Lala grinned. “This is going to be perfect!”
She poured the mixture into little cups, lining them up neatly in the steamer. As the water began to boil, steam filled the kitchen, carrying the sweet smell of cake. Lala peeked through the lid and giggled as the cakes puffed up, round and fluffy.
While waiting, she set the table with a plate, a cup of tea, and even a little flower from the garden. She wanted everything to look nice when Mom came in.
At last, the timer beeped. Lala lifted the lid, and a cloud of warm steam escaped, revealing golden, fluffy cakes. She carefully placed them on a plate, proud of her creation.
Just then, Mom walked in, surprised by the smell. “Lala, what have you been up to?”
Lala smiled shyly and held up the plate. “I steamed cakes for you, Mom. Please enjoy!”
Mom took a bite, her eyes lighting up. “These are delicious, Lala! Thank you for such a sweet surprise.”
Lala beamed with happiness. The cakes weren’t just food—they were a gift of love. Sitting together, sharing the warm cakes, both mother and daughter felt their hearts even warmer than the steam itself.
