It started with just a little rubbing of the eyes.
Lala blinked more than usual, and her bright eyes, normally full of joy and curiosity, seemed cloudy and uncomfortable. At first, Mom Lan Anh thought it was just a bit of dust. But when Lala whimpered softly and avoided light, Mom’s heart sank.
Without hesitation, she scooped Lala up in her arms and whispered, “Don’t worry, sweetie. Mommy’s going to take care of you.”
They rushed to the hospital, Lala wrapped gently in a soft blanket. In the waiting room, Lala leaned her head on Mom’s chest, trusting and quiet, while Mom held her close and stroked her back gently.
When the doctor called their name, Mom stood up quickly and carried Lala into the exam room. The vet examined Lala carefully—checking her eyes, her reactions, and asking questions.
“It looks like a serious eye infection,” the doctor explained. “But luckily, you brought her in just in time.”
Mom let out a breath of relief but still held back tears. The doctor prescribed eye drops, special ointments, and advised lots of rest and care.
Back at home, Mom created a cozy resting spot with Lala’s favorite blanket and toys. She applied the medicine gently, soothing Lala with soft words and kisses. Though the treatment stung a little, Lala stayed still, trusting Mom completely.
“Be brave, my little one,” Mom whispered. “Your eyes will shine bright again.”
That night, Lala drifted off to sleep beside Mom, her eyes still healing but her heart full of comfort and love.
Because in times of pain and worry, a mother’s love becomes the strongest medicine of all.
